About four years ago, I fell in love with this leather bomber at Coach. As a college student, it was definitely a splurge for me - but I had to have it. It turned out to be one of the best clothing investments I've ever made. Season after season, it's still going strong and the leather gets even more beautiful over time. I'll wear it right through the winter since it's well insulated to keep the warmth in. A classic shearling-collared bomber should be in everyone's closet. Invest, people.
I got this necklace sometime during the summer but somehow it never made it into an outfit post. I'm quite obsessed with it actually. Since it is such a statement piece, I try to keep the rest of the look simple. A white shirt and open jacket is plenty.
Underwear is the first thing we put on everyday, before we put on the rest of our clothes and venture out into the world. Even though the majority of the people we come into contact with throughout the day will never see what we're wearing underneath our clothes, I still think it's very important. It kind of sets the tone for the day - so shouldn't we start the day off right? Of course comfort is an important quality in an under garment but certainly not the only one. There's more to consider. I got a chance to try out some new styles from Croota, an Australian brand. (Australians seem to know a lot about underwear!)
The first two I tried are part of the Tartan Forever line. I wanted to try them right away because I love the colorful prints and they turned out to be the most comfortable too. They stayed in place all day and I kind of forgot I had them on during the day. That says a lot - there's nothing worse than having to readjust migrating underwear all day long!

Next, I tried the 45 Degree boxer brief which I didn't find to be as comfortable. There is a seam running up the backside (which I think is to give more shape) but it felt like having a wedgie all day that I couldn't relieve. They definitely look great on but I wouldn't want to sacrifice that much comfort for a day at work. They are better for shorter time periods. Overall, I was really impressed with the brand. The materials and quality of construction are impressive, and they don't use itchy tags on the band. They offer a large amount of designs unique from other brands and they are all quite colorful and fun.

I've always liked rings on other people, but never for myself. When I've tried them, I always found them to be uncomfortable for all day wear or that they get in the way. After reading about the rings at Modern Design (link here) and taking a look at the selection online, I decided to give one a try. I wanted something simple that I could easily wear with the many bracelets that I wear from day to day, so I chose to go with one of the polished tungsten designs. I was really surprised at how comfortable it is to wear all day long. For a such a simple design, it's crafted very well - the edges on the inside are curved so it doesn't dig into your skin. That's a pretty important detail that you don't even see, but it makes a big difference! I've been wearing it pretty much everyday, sometimes switching fingers. I also wore it in the shoot for my next outfit post, which I will post this weekend once I get everything ready.
I recently found this sweatshirt at H&M and instantly fell in love. To make the most impact of the contrast striping on the sleeves, I wanted to go all black... everything. This is my first post wearing my new sneakers from last month's designer collaboration with 3.1 Phillip Lim and Target, (See what else I got HERE) but I've been wearing them a lot! I've been inspired by monochromatic looks lately so I've been experimenting with different looks. I'm sure they will be on here a lot!
